Geelong City Market it’s more than a market — it’s a movement. Set right in the beating heart of Little Malop Street, our market will be the cultural anchor for Geelong: a place where locals and visitors come to eat, drink, connect, and celebrate the best of our region.

Meet the Team

Barwon Events is committed to the Geelong City Market being a supportive and empowering resource for local producers and the creative community. The pair have compiled a comprehensive database of over 600 potential stallholders and is already well-acquainted with local service providers.

  • Founder.

    Simon began his hospitality career at 15 working his way through nearly every job possible in the industry. After finding himself in London running one of the best cocktail bars in the world, he became increasingly drawn to food, its history, and its powerful ability to connect people and place. After studying his masters in Gastronomy in Edinburgh, Simon moved back to Aus and applied for Masterchef. He ended up on back-to-back seasons. This solidified his love of food and his passion for plant-based cooking.

    Since then, Simon has hosted his very own plant-based cooking program ‘Freshly Picked’ on Channel 10 and SBS.

    He is now teaming up with Kieran to bring The Geelong City Market to their beloved home town.

  • Founder.

    Kieran’s grew up on a potato farm, selling bags of spuds at a local Geelong market. Since then, he has worked, run and owned his way through the hospitality industry. He has now landed right where he belongs, in events. With over 15 years experience in the events industry, and founder of multiple event brands, he has now sunk his teeth into Barwon Events and the Geelong City Market along with many others to come. When it comes to supporting local and growing the tourism industry, Kieran brings passion and a proven track record.
